Pedaling Forward: The Chiloquin Bike Club Joins CVIP

Something exciting just became official.

In April, the Board of Directors for Chiloquin Visions in Progress (CVIP) voted to welcome the Chiloquin Bike Club as an official program. While this may sound like a new step, the truth is, it’s been a long time coming.

The Bike Club has been part of our community since 2022, when Hannah Levine and Richard La China launched it in partnership with Chiloquin Elementary School and Chiloquin High School. What started as a simple idea, to get kids on bikes, quickly turned into something much bigger.

Through after-school activities, the club has given local youth a chance to build confidence, stay active, and connect with others. It’s not just about riding bikes. It’s about learning skills, trying new things, and finding a sense of belonging.

We’re excited to officially welcome the Chiloquin Bike Club into CVIP. The Board recognized right away that this program reflects what we stand for, said John Rademacher, Board President, creating opportunities for our youth and making Chiloquin a better place. Now, as part of CVIP, we can help grow the program and seek funding to keep it strong for years to come.”

CVIP has worked alongside the Bike Club, and we’ve seen firsthand the impact it has on our youth and our community. In 2025, the Bike Club helped staff the one week of the new Chiloquin Teen Adventure Camp, a summer program created by CVIP and other community groups and leaders.

Bringing the program under the CVIP umbrella allows us to strengthen that impact, provide more support, and help the program grow sustainably. This move also opens the door to new opportunities, expanded programming, additional funding, and more ways for volunteers and partners to get involved.

At its core, this is about investing in our kids and our future.

The Chiloquin Bike Club is no longer just a great local effort; it’s now a lasting part of CVIP’s mission to support lifelong growth and connection in our community.

And we’re just getting started.
