About
Sprague River Bridge Connection
Founded in 2005
Sprague River Bridge Connection has proudly served the Sprague River Valley community in Eastern Oregon for 20 years. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the outlying communities of the Sprague River Valley and the essential services available in Klamath Falls. In a region marked by high unemployment, homelessness, single mothers, and many seniors on fixed incomes, we provide vital resources such as emergency food boxes, hygiene items, clothing, household goods, social service information, and emotional support.
Every week, our all volunteer team of 12 volunteers work tirelessly to ensure these resources reach those who need them most. On Tuesdays, we sort and organize donations from our generous community, and on Wednesdays, we distribute food boxes, clothing and offer homemade baked goods. Our pantry serves 150-200 families monthly, and in 2024 alone, we distributed over 90,000 pounds of food, including 30,000 pounds of fresh produce.
As the population in the Sprague River Valley grows, so do the needs of our community. We have outgrown our current building and are excited to work toward building a larger facility on donated land to better serve our neighbors. The new facility will be built with the community’s support from pledges, community donations, bake sales proceeds and rummage sales proceeds. We are also excited to begin the grant writing process.
Through the support of pledges, donations, bake sales, and rummage sales, we are committed to eliminating hunger and improving the well-being of our residents, ensuring they have access to healthy and nutritious foods in a safe and welcoming environment.
